Snyder's Shipyard Limited is located on the beautiful east side of the LaHave River in Dayspring, Nova Scotia - 12 miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean - with a dock water depth of 20 feet. Since the yard opened in 1876, over 200 vessels of all sizes and types of construction have been built here.

Snyder's Shipyard built the famous 'Theodore Too' in 2000.

Being a FULL SERVICE SHIPYARD we have the facilities and the ability to build and repair boats up to 110 ft. long at our Dayspring yard. We also have the people, vehicles and tools to take our trade to you - with our potential limited only by your imagination.

We are one of few shipyards in eastern Canada that specializes in building wooden vessels; we also build vessels from fiberglass and from steel. Additionally, we offer wood fiberglass construction; vessels with traditional wood ribs encased in a fiberglass sheathing.

As of October 2008 our new marine slip is fully operational, allowing us to haul boats up to 200 tons. We have the facilities for welding stainless, aluminum, steel as well as doing mechanical and hydraulic work. We also do major and minor repairs to wharves, and have access to the Marine Railway enabling us to do repairs on larger boats.

Besides new construction, we welcome refits and restoration of all types of vessels.

Over the winter of 2009-2010 Snyder's totally renovated the boat shop to become a modern comfortable year-round facility complete with in-floor heat.

We take great pride in each vessel we build, repair or refit. Some of our more recognizable projects include the construction of the famous 'Theodore Too' tugboat, the 'Avon Spirit', the 'Abigail Grace', and the 1995 refit of 'Bluenose II'.
